Photograph the complete opening
Include the recess, the wall above, handles, hinges, vents and nearby furniture. A second photograph with the window or door open helps show its movement. Stand safely on the floor; there is no need to climb to reach a high window for an initial enquiry.
If you have a tape measure
Record approximate width and drop in millimetres and label each window clearly. If you measure in several places, keep the individual figures rather than combining them into an ordering dimension. Tell Gemini whether you are describing the glass, the inside of the recess or the whole area you want to cover.
Note what might get in the way
Blinds need room to roll, fold or stack, and shutters need room for frames and panels. Handles, tiled recesses, angled bays and inward-opening glazing can change the available solution. Plan more than one window clearly
Name openings in a way you will recognise: “bedroom left” is more useful than “window three”. Record the room's priority and whether matching is important.
